Christmas Message from President of the Caribbean Federation of Police Welfare Associations ( CFPWA) 2016 – Sgt 509 Brenton Smith

Seasons Greetings to All members of the Caribbean Federation of Police Welfare Associations. As we celebrate yet another Christmas Day which signifies the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, let us pause and take a deep breath and reflect on our journey over the past year. As an organisation, we encountered some challenges including the arrest of some of our members who were charged for fighting for the rights of the people, we have also seen the increase of many serious and violent crimes in our region and the passing of few of our members, be it through natural cause or murdered whilst on duty. I urge you to let us continue to work closely together and be our brothers’ keepers since we all share a common purpose which is to preserve the public peace and to protect our citizens and visitors alike. Our job may be tough but we are capable of executing our duties effectively and professionally. The continuous dedication, commitment, bravery and strong will of our members and supportive staff give us the urge to continue to represent them daily and this we will continue to do. So very often in the business of policing, our hard work and dedication go unnoticed, hence the CFPWA will continue to fight for the cause of its members.

Please put God first in everything that you do and remember that Jesus is the reason for this season. Have a very Merry Christmas and I look forward to renewed vigour in the New Year.
